Cholesterol Defense

Containing niacin and the effective Cholesterol Defense Proprietary Blend, Cholesterol Defense encourages cholesterol and triglyceride regulation within the body.

Niacin, otherwise known as vitamin B3, is water soluble so it needs to be replenished on a regular basis. Sufficient evidence suggests that niacin encourages the increase of the protective HDL, “good cholesterol,” and the decrease of LDL, “bad cholesterol, by lowering triglycerides. Niacin is known to help prevent hardening of the artery walls, especially in conjunction with the Cholesterol Defense Proprietary Blend, which consists of Policosanol, Gugulipid, Plant Sterol Complex, Cayenne, and Garlic.

Policosanol, a natural supplement derived from sugar cane, has been shown to normalize cholesterol, by lowering LDL-cholesterol and raising HDL-cholesterol, which removes plaque from arterial walls. Stopping the formation of arterial lesions, promoting healthy blood vessels, and creating an inflammatory response, policosanol stops the proliferation of thickening in the arteries and inhibits the formation of clots.

Along with policosanol is Gugulipid, made from commiphora mukul tree resin. It has been used for thousands of years to reduce ailments, and recent studies suggest a significant decrease in triglycerides with use. Also in the Cholesterol Defense Proprietary Blend is plant sterole complex, which is structured similarly to cholesterol and can cause cholesterol absorption to be blocked through competitive inhibition. Cayenne, too, inhibits LDL oxidation, working synergistically with these other ingredients, including garlic, which also protects against oxidation in the arterial lining and encourages normal platelet aggregation.
